Sessions take the form of workshops and assemblies, where the ambassador explains what apprenticeships entail and how they are a proven route to future careers.
- Workshops are held for groups of 20-30 young people. They last for either one or two hours and are delivered by three to five ambassadors.
- Assemblies can be held for full year-groups at schools and colleges as well as smaller groups. They usually last between 30 minutes and an hour.
Who are the Apprentice Connect ambassadors?
Our ambassadors are all current or qualified apprentices. They have experienced the benefits of apprenticeships first-hand, so are the perfect experts to share what they have learnt.
Our ambassadors represent the following organisations: NHS, DHL, Manpower, EE, Laing O’Rourke, New Horizons, eCourier, Eurocamp, the Wales Office, British Gas, Kettering Museum and Art Gallery and SPS Aerostructures.

If you are, or have been, an apprentice and you would like to make a difference by sharing your experiences and advice with young people, contact our Youth Engagement Team on 020 7294 2494 or email ambassadors@cityandguilds.com
Ambassadors will need to be available to:

Work experience open days
We regularly run one-day open days at the City & Guilds Group head office in London. This full-day session provides young people with an insight into the world of work and the types of skills and qualities that employers look for. The day also includes talks from employees who are in different stages of their careers – from apprentices to senior board directors.
Internships
Working in partnership with the charity Career Ready – which links schools and colleges to employers to create opportunities for young people – we can offer number of their students paid six-week placements over the summer.
