Over 100 organisations apply for the Princess Royal Training Awards

A total of 110 organisations have entered the City & Guilds Group’s all-new Princess Royal Training Awards. Applications ranged from national broadcasters and leading UK charities to community bakers, hospitals and tech and engineering companies.

The awards were created to highlight the positive impact that training and skills development can have on business performance.

Speaking about the Awards’ success, Michael Osbaldeston, Special Adviser at the City & Guilds Group said: ‘We are delighted to have received a high number of applications for the Princess Royal Training Awards in the inaugural year. The awards are a brand new way of proving that investment in training is linked to business success. It’s time for L&D to get the recognition it deserves.’

The entries are now in the first stages of assessment, and Assessors are shortlisting organisations to receive a validation visit. The validation visit is led by an Assessor and a City & Guilds Group representative. It’s an informal chance for organisations to expand the information from their applications. Finally, the Princess Royal Training Awards Commission, presided by HRH The Princess Royal, will decide which organisations have reached the standard of excellence.

Recipients of the award will be announced in August and will be recognised at a high-profile venue in the autumn.
