The City & Guilds Group Management Board leads by example, upholding our values, achieving excellence, pushing boundaries and ensuring we achieve our purpose.

The board does this by providing the Group with strategic direction and operational council, as our purpose is carried forward into our businesses’ operations.

Council of The City and Guilds of London Institute

Council of The City and Guilds of London Institute

The Council of The City and Guilds of London Institute has an integral role in the governance of City & Guilds – providing advice, guidance and support.

Council’s role aligns with the Group purpose and values, and is put into action through the duties it performs – from conferring the Group’s highest honour – Fellowship upon outstanding individuals, to providing electing officials who will continue to uphold our values.

Trustees of The City and Guilds of London Institute

Trustees of The City and Guilds of London Institute

The Trustee Board of The City and Guilds of London Institute serves a key role in the governance of the City & Guilds Group.

Its primary responsibility is ensuring the Group pursues its charitable objectives and that it remains financially robust.

The Trustee Board is made up of members of the Council, who are elected to serve as Trustees. Once appointed, they serve as Trustees for up to nine years.

Fellows of The City and Guilds of London Institute

The highest honour bestowed within the Group is Fellowship of The City and Guilds of London Institute.

Fellowship is conferred upon those who have:

  • Seen outstanding achievements in their industries
  • Given distinguished service to the Group
  • Enhanced the profile of vocational education and training

Fellows are examples of excellence. They are ambassadors for the whole Group, as they represent and uphold our values.

Fellows play an important part in providing advice and support to the Group. They may hold many roles in our Group, including places on Council, and by acting as liaisons with public and private sector organisations.
